The water quality in the Ganga River and its tributaries is still affected by the discharge of domestic and industrial sewage flow despite the implementation of the Ganga Action Plan and other sanitation projects, by the central government and states concerned, for the last 25 years.
The World Bank has then awarded a USD 1.5 billion loan (first component) for the National Ganga River Basin Project (NGRB Project).
The objectives of the NGRBA Program Framework are to provide a filter for all the NGRBA investments, for ensuring that the selected investments are well-prepared and amongst the most effective in reducing the pollution loads; to make transparent the decision-making process on investments selection; and to ensure that the investments are implemented in a sustainable manner.
SCE is in charge of the wastewater treatment issues with the support of Naomis for all the digital and GIS components.
